GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police arrested two fraudsters for collecting funds from a section of businessmen promising them to open syndicates, from a city hotel on Sunday.
"The duo allegedly collected funds in the name of top political leaders and a section of police officials," sources said. The duo – Mohan Jha (36) from Bihar, and Sunil Kaul from Delhi were arrested in connection with Dispur Police Station case No 3968/21 under section 120(B), 419, 420 of IPC. A team of police from Dispur Police Station arrested the duo based on a complaint lodged by the All Assam United Youth Federation. The court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate remanded them to seven-day police custody for further investigation.
