Guwahati: Police Nab Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Cadre

The apprehended person has been identified as Enamul Haque and was working as the manager of a guest house in Dispur.

Guwahati: In a major development, the Guwahati police on Friday nabbed a cadre of the Islamic terrorist organisation Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JMB) in the city here on Friday.

As per reports, the cadre was arrested by Dispur Police in collaboration with the Crime Branch.

The apprehended person has been identified as Enamul Haque and was working as the manager of a guest house in Dispur.

The reports also claimed that several documents have been seized after conducting search operations from Haque's residence.

Reportedly, police believe that Islamic fundamentalist groups have been trying to make an inroad in Assam for a long time.

Earlier, a few members of Ansar al Islam known as the Bangladesh chapter of Al Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) were also nabbed for allegedly carrying out jihadi activities in Assam.
