Guwahati preparing to host the Bihu dancers for World Record setting event

The Kamrup Metropolitan district administration is taking all steps to ensure the comfortable stay of the 12000 youths who will be taking part in the event in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metropolitan district administration is taking all steps to ensure the comfortable stay of the 12000 youths who will be taking part in the event in Guwahati with the aim of including Bihu in the Guinness World Records. These dancers as well as officials will be accommodated in over 200 hostels, lodges and hostels across the city.

The Bihu Dance event will be organised in the Sarusajai Stadium of Guwahati by the Government of Assam. It will take place on April 14 in the presence of Narendra Modi. The DC of Kamrup Metro, Pallav Gopal Jha met with the representatives of these accommodation facilities and educational institutions to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.

A large number of participants will start arriving in the city from April 10 and the DC ensured that there will be no problems regarding the accommodation, transportation as well as food served to the 12000 participants of the event. The importance of the quality, as well as the timing of the meals, was also discussed in the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Additional Commissioner Dr Dhruvajyoti Hazarika along with several other top officials of the district administration.
