GUWAHATI: In line with one of the core values of Indian Oil –'Care–S P Singh, Executive Director & Refinery Head, Guwahati Refinery visited Jyoti Niketan, a special school for the blind on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Jyoti Niketan, a residential school for visually-challenged students imparting formal education under the CBSE curriculum from Nursery to Class V, is situated at Satgaon, Narengi, near Guwahati Refinery. During the visit, Singh interacted with the students and enjoyed a brief cultural programme presented by them. The programme witnessed handing over of 5 desktop PCs and a LED TV by Guwahati Refinery to the visually-challenged students under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Sister Deepa, Headmistress of Jyoti Niketan, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Indian Oil for this support towards facilitating inclusiveness of the visually-challenged students.
