Guwahati Refinery organizes visits for Engineering students under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'

As a part of the celebration of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Guwahati Refinery arranged field visits for Engineering students from November 8 to 12 , 2021.

GUWAHATI: As a part of the celebration of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Guwahati Refinery arranged field visits for Engineering students from November 8 to 12 , 2021. Around 125 numbers of engineering students of various disciplines like Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Civil in five batches visited Guwahati Refinery.

During the visit, the students were first given training on safety procedures and norms before being given a guided tour to Digitally Distributed Control System (DDCS) Control Room and other processing units like Crude Distillation Unit (CDU), Delayed Coker Unit (DCU), Indmax unit etc. of the Refinery.

Later, the students were briefed about the Refinery operations at the Learning & Development (L&D) Centre wherein two Corporate films on the operations and varied business verticals of Indian Oil Corporation Limited were screened to the students. The students from various disciplines showed their keen interest in Refinery operations and put-up queries to the respective officers to enhance their knowledge base.

The enthusiastic students guided by faculty members thanked Guwahati Refinery for facilitating the study visit to the Refinery and described the initiative a worthwhile and gainful learning. Later, each student was gifted a motivational book written by former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam.
