Guwahati Ropeway reopens for public: Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority

The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has announced that the Guwahati Ropeway has been reopened for the public. The facility has been closed for maintenance for the past several days.

GUWAHATI:  The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has announced that the Guwahati Ropeway has been reopened for the public. The facility has been closed for maintenance for the past several days. The resumption of the services of the ropeway will be a benefit for the local people, as it is the fastest mode of transportation between the north and south banks of the river.

The authorities had earlier announced that the services would be halted from September 26 to October 5 in view of necessary maintenance services. The Guwahati Ropeway stresses for a distance of 1.8 km across the Brahmaputra River connecting Kachari and North Guwahati. It also offers some beautiful ariel views of the Brahmaputra River.
