Guwahati: Special Task Force nabs drug peddlers and thieves

Guwahati: The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam conducted a raid near Khanapara Public Toilet, falling under Dispur Police Staion jurisdiction, leading to the apprehending of notorious drug peddlers and thieves. The raid yielded significant recoveries, underscoring the ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities in the region.

The apprehended individuals have been identified as Mukut Mondal (26), son of Dinesh Mondal, residing in Swadesh Nagar, under Basistha Police Station of Kamrup district (M), and Rajdeep Chungkrang (22), son of Umananda Chungkrang, with a present address in Beltola, Guwahati, Kamrup(M), and a permanent address in Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur.

The recovered items from the operation include 23 vials containing suspected heroin weighing 40.1 grams, a sum of Rs 2960 in cash, two stolen mobile phones, five empty vials, one syringe, and a Birla Aerocon 59 ml, which was used as a psycho-active substance.
