Guwahati Traffic Police Collects Fine Amounting to Rs 12,94,000 for Violating COVID Norms

The Guwahati Traffic police under Commissionerate of Police, Guwahati collected fine worth Rs 12, 94,000 for COVID-19 norms violation.

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Traffic police under Commissionerate of Police, Guwahati collected fine worth Rs 12, 94,000 for COVID-19 norms violation.

As per records from May 4 till May 19 total number of fine cases detected in Guwahati stands at 1033 under Disaster Management Act while non-FIR cases stands at 2759 and 386 vehicles has been seized.

The DGP has already informed that police are making people aware about the SOP by making announcements in every locality.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier month; odd-even vehicle rationing has been imposed in Kamrup Metropolitan district, which includes Guwahati, for private and personal vehicles staring Thursday.

The order is effective from 5 am to 2 pm, May 13 onwards.

The order signed by DC of Kamrup (metro) said that vehicles with odd number will be allowed to ply on odd dates. (Example: Vehicle number ending with 1/3/5/7/9 on 13th/15th/17th/19th May etc.), likewise, vehicles with even number plate will ply on even dates. (Example: Vehicle number ending with 0/2/4/6/8 on 14th/16th/18th/20th/22nd May etc.)
