Guwahati's Amrit Udyan Opens For Public, Know About Ticket Price & Morning Walk Timings

Honouring the leading lights of freedom struggle in North East India, the newly-inaugurated Amrit Udyan in Guwahati hosts statues of 8 freedom fighters from 8 NE States.

Guwahati: Amrit Udyan - a park with various amenities built at a cost of Rs.14.81 crores on 14 bighas of land in Guwahati's Hengrabari area was opened to public on Sunday.

The park which was officially inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on August 23 is located at the campus of Assam Khadi & Village Industries Board in Hengrabari.

Notably, honouring the leading lights of freedom struggle in North East India, the newly-inaugurated Amrit Udyan in Guwahati hosts statues of 8 freedom fighters from 8 NE States.

Since the park has been opened to the public, let's look at timings and ticket prices.

Details of Timing & Ticket Price:

Timing: 11 AM to 9 PM (Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday)

Note: Park will remain closed on every Monday.

Ticket Price: Rs 30 for people aged 11 to 75 years.

There is a free entry for:

- Children upto 10 years

- Senior Citizens above 75 years

- Specially abled persons

- Morning walkers from 5 AM to 8 AM

Significantly, the 'Amrit Udyan' is a tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of busy city life, where young and old people can take a moment to refresh their minds and recharge their bodies.

The park hosts statues of eight eminent tribal leaders from Northeast who fought valiantly against the British Raj. In addition to this, there is also a watch tower, cafeteria, children's playing area, meditation centre, nursery etc. in the park.

Speaking to the media after inaugurating the park, Sarma had stated that the first one was built and inaugurated at Maligaon, while the Amrit Udyan was built in line with the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

He further mentioned that a botanical garden will be inaugurated in the Fancy Bazar area of Guwahati by December-January.

"A botanical garden is going to come up at Fancy Bazar by coming December-January. Besides this, another park along with a pond will be built on 10 bighas land nearby the Chandmari Bus Stand," he added.
