GUWAHATI: A Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court directed the Guwahati Police to hand over the car keys as well as the flat keys that they had seized from Dr. Sangeeta Datta, the accused in the child abuse case, to her relatives. The court asked the police to do so if they were not required for further investigation.
According to sources, this order is the outcome of a petition that a relative of Dr. Datta filed for the release of Dr. Datta's car keys and flat keys if not required for further investigation. The petitioner said in his petition that there are valuables like gold, diamonds, other ornaments, ornamental fish, turtles, and other valuable items that are to be kept safe. So, the court directed the police to hand over the car keys and flat keys if they were not required for further investigation and also ordered the relatives to deposit a bond of Rs 50 lakh with the court.
