Hare Krishna Mandir celebrates Gaura Purnima in North Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Gaura Purnima/Doul Utsav celebrations organized by Hare Krishna Movement, Guwahati at Hare Krishna Mandir North Guwahati on Sunday, drew students from premier institutes and devotees from various walks of life who turned up to receive the blessings of their lordships Sri Sri Nitai Gaura Sundar.

The event marked the appearance of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the most munificent incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna. The programme started at 5pm with the rendering of soulful Sankirtan by devotees followed by melodious Bhajan and dance performances by artistes. Thereafter Maha-Abhishekham was performed to Their Lordships. Abhishekam was performed with auspicious items like milk, curd, honey, ghee, sweet water, many more fruits juice, and varieties of flowers etc. followed by the Abhishekam special Arati was also attended by the thousands of devotees.

Also for the pleasure of their lordships, 108 special offerings were offered and distributed to the devotees. A special Bharatnatyam dance performance was offered by devotees.

Janardhana Dasa, president of Hare Krishna Mandir, Guwahati thanked the people for turning up to offer prayers and seek the complete protection of the Lord from the ongoing pandemic, stated a release.
