GUWAHATI: The Hindu Jagaran Manch seized eight cow laden trucks at Basistha on Friday evening and handed the vehicles over to Basistha police for interrogation. The general secretary of the Manch, Guwahati committee, Nayan Dawka registered an FIR at Basistha police station in this regard. According to the police, the eight vehicles (AS25BC7051) (AS19AC0758) (AS15C9681) (AS25DC7268) (AS13C6526) (AS01EC2932) (AS15C8206) (AS15C5215), had a total of 83 cattle inside. Seven people have been detained in this regard. The apprehended Abdul Samat, 33, of Udalguri, Rajak Ali, 27, of Barpeta, Rekibul Ali, 30, of Barpeta, Abu Bakkar Siddique, 24, of Mangaldoi, Pyar Ali, 39, of Bihata Chariali, Siddique Ali, 48, of Bijoy Nagar, and Jahangir Alom, 24, of Barpeta are under interrogation and have informed that the cattle have been brought in from Chaygaon, Baihata Chariali, Barpeta and Mangaldoi.
