KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) Chairman Vinay Kumar Saxena will attend the programme slated to bring together potential entrepreneurs from the sector. Over the past few years, awareness regarding health benefits associated with honey has significantly increased. Governments and international organizations are promoting it as an important food ingredient as well as a beneficial mediational ingredient.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recognized honey as a potential remedy for various respiratory-tract infections. The North East Region (NER) of India, Punjab and Maharashtra are the key areas for natural honey production. The strong foothold of apiculture, coupled with a high concentration of middle-income age-groups in countries including China and India, is projected to promote investments by the prospecting companies in the near future, stated a release.
