HSLC question paper leak: CJM of Kamrup (M) summons 41 accused

The Court of the CJM of Kamrup (M) summoned a total of 41 people to be present in the court on September 18 in regard to their alleged involvement in the leak of the Science subject question paper of the (HSLC) Examination 2023.

GUWAHATI: The Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Kamrup (M) summoned a total of 41 people to be present in the court on September 18 in regard to their alleged involvement in the leak of the Science subject question paper of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2023. The CID had submitted its charge sheet against these 41 people, which includes 10 teachers, 24 students, 5 middlemen, and 2 other attendants.

With respect to the incident of leakage of the question paper of the High School Leaving Certificate Examination, a case was registered with CID PS Case No. 03/2023 u/s 120B/420/427 IPCR/W Section 66 B of the IT Act added Section 409/201/218 IPC based on the complaint registered by SEBA.

During the investigation, CID found that Pranab Kumar Dutta, Headmaster and Centre-in-Charge of Lohit Khaboli High School, Lakhimpur, and Kumud Rajkhowa, teacher of Dafalakata Janajati High School, Lakhimpur, were the chief perpetrators behind the leak of the question paper of the HSLC Examination with an ulterior motive to sell the paper for pecuniary benefits. Both of them were arrested along with 39 others who were found to be involved in the conspiracy to leak and circulate the question paper.
