GUWAHATI: Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday asserted that the State Government would soon root out the menace of exchange of money to get government jobs.

Reacting for the first time on the SI Examination question-paper leak case, Sarma said that the government would hold the same examination, declare results and complete the appointment process within November 30 in a complete transparent manner.

"I feel that that leaking of the question paper in SI exam was a blessing in disguise. Now we will be able to trace the illegal job market and eradicate it forever. We have already brought about reforms in the appointment process in the APSC and also the Education department. Similar reforms will be effected in the appointment process in the other departments," Sarma said.

The Finance Minister assured punitive actions against all those candidates who managed to get government jobs by adopting unfair means in the recent years.
