GUWAHATI, Jan 18: Various indigenous Muslim organizations of the State have opposed the Khilanjia Axomiya Muslim Board. They have demanded the ruling Government to form a Goria Development Council with sufficient funds.

The members later hinted that if their demands are not fulfilled before the forthcoming polls then they will take an anti-BJP stand which will affect the vote share of the party as the State has a total of 40 lakh indigenous Muslims.

Addressing a press meet, working president of Ujoni Axom Muslim Kalyan Parishad (UAMPK) Monirul Islam Bora stated,"We want one seat in the Rajya Sabha, two seats in the Lok Sabha and 10 seats in the State Legislative Assembly."

Adding to it, Bora said, "Government announced to make Ajan Pir Kshetra at Sivasagar for which Rs.10 crore were allotted. However, it is not sufficient and thus we demand a fund of Rs. 100 crore for the Kshetra before election."
