AGP sets afire Sherman Ali's effigies across Assam

GUWAHATI: Reacting against the controversial statement of Baghbor MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) Sherman Ali (Congress) on the martyrs of the historic Assam agitation, an indigenous Muslim organisation -- SAGMDJP (Sadou Asom Goria, Moria, Deshi Jatiya Parishad) -- has demanded that Sherman Ali must be removed from the post of MLA and that steps must be initiate against him. This was stated in a statement by the SAGMDJP president Shahnawaz Hussain here on Friday. He added that Sherman Ali has made a pre-planned provocative statement.
AGP SETS AFIRE SHERMAN'S EFFIGY: Shouting slogans against Baghbor Congress MLA Sherman Ali, the members of AGP (Asom Gana Parishad), set afire the legislator's effigies across the State on Friday. In Guwahati, such a protest was held in front of the AGP HQs at Ambari. In this regard, AGP GS said, "Sherman Ali is a threat to Assam. He has exceeded his limits. He has forgotten the responsibilities of a legislator."
