International Women’s Day celebrated at LGBI Airport

GUWAHATI: LGBI Airport, Azara, celebrated International Women’s Day on Wednesday. The main theme of Women’s Day this year is “DigitAll,” which signifies innovations and technology for gender equality, and it aims to emphasize the importance of technology in bringing gender issues to light. Women are one’s daughter, mother, and colleagues, playing multiple roles at different points in their lives. Be it at home or at the workplace, women’s strong will, kind heart, and caring nature make all the difference. Women have the power to push boundaries, find their voice, and serve as a constant source of inspiration for all.

The event was presided over by Utpal Dutta Baruah, Joint GM (ATC), and Chief Airport Officer Utpal Baruah was the Chief Guest. Amongst the speakers were Ruma Devi, Corporate Communication Officer; Imran Rizvi, Head Terminal; and Joydeep Sarkar, Station Manager, Indigo Airlines. Many female employees of AAI, GIAL, and other stakeholders were present for the celebration. In a short speech on the occasion, Baruah, the Chief Airport Officer, said that men and women are complementary to each other. Man used to believe he was superior to women solely because of his physical strength. However, those days are gone now. In every walk of life, women have proven their equality.
