GUWAHATI: Indigenous Tribal Sahitya Sabha, Assam (ITSSA) expressed its gratitude to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for their steps to tackle the COVID-19 outbreak.
ITSSA Secretary General Kamal Kanto Mosahary welcomed the decision to extend the lockdown till May 03 and applauded the work done by the Assam Government in view of the pandemic. ITSSA is a coordination body of 8 indigenous tribal Sahitya Sabhas which are – Bodo, Mising, Karbi, Rabha, Tiwa, Deuri, Dimasa and Garo. Mosahary said that the helpline numbers introduced by the government for the stranded people is a good initiative. He said that the body had already written to the CM in this regard on March 30.
