Jalukbari murder case: Two more arrested by Jalukbari Police in Guwahati

The Jalukbari Police apprehended two more accused in the murder of a railway employee in Guwahati on May 29.

GUWAHATI: The Jalukbari Police apprehended two more accused in the murder of a railway employee in Guwahati on May 29. The arrested has been identified as Sagar Basfor and Rohan Sil from Pandu in Guwahati who are said to be friends of Mohan Giri and Suraj Giri, who are already in police custody.

According to police, on May 25, Sagar Basfor and Rohan Sil along with the former under the influence of alcohol planned the murder of Santosh Prasad, the railway employee. It is to be mentioned here that, earlier on May 27 a dead body of a man was recovered from a trunk in Jalukbari area of Guwahati. The trunk was being transported on two scooters which was supposed to be disposed of from the Saraighat Bridge into the Brahmaputra river.

However, the police chased one of the scooters and apprehended one identified as Mohan Giri and later Suraj Giri and the deceased wife Gita Prashad was also arrested in connecting to the murder.

Meanwhile, the police suspects to be a case of domestic violence and case No 590 /21 u/s 120(B)/302/201 under IPC has been registered.
