GUWAHATI: BJP's national president JP Nadda is going to release the manifesto of the party for the Assam Assembly election in Guwahati on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the State BJP said that the Congress' manifesto is devoid of content.

Addressing the media at the party's media cell office at Khanapara here on Monday, State BJP's spokesperson Manoj Baruah said, "By making the promise of providing pensions to the family members of the martyrs of the Assam Agitation, the language movement and the movement for the medium of instruction the party has insulted the public. All these agitations took place during Congress regimes when the Congress government harassed them. The Congress has no right to recall all those martyrs.

"The Congress promised to provide financial aid for xatras and namghars. The irony is that these cultural centres came under the encroachment of people of suspected nationalities during the Congress rule in the State.

"The 5-Guarantees of the Congress are baseless. The Congress also promised to scrap the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act). However, the fact remains that the party doesn't have the required strength in the Parliament to scrap the Act."
