GUWAHATI: Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup, Keerthi Jalli, inaugurated an additional dialysis unit at Singimari Model Hospital on Thursday.
This hospital caters to the needs of the people from Hajo, Sualkuchi, Amingaon, Jalukbari, Dadara, Rangia, and even parts of the Nalbari district. There are two operational free dialysis centres in the district of Kamrup, one at Singimari Model Hospital and the other at Rangia Model Hospital. The additional dialysis unit has been provided to the Singimari Model Hospital by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages as a part of its CSR initiative. The augmented facility now brings the total number of dialysis units at the hospital to six, and the hospital will now be able to serve additional patients.
On her maiden visit to the hospital, the Deputy Commissioner was surprised that, due to COVID, Singimari Model Hospital wasn’t fully functional. Now she has declared the hospital open for normal delivery, ANC check-ups for pregnant women, and OPD services starting Monday and has requested that the nearby public make use of these facilities. She also added that a gynaecologist would be visiting every Tuesday for quality ANCs of pregnant women. She interacted with the team and motivated them to deliver their best in the service of the poor. She also thanked the company for its social initiative.
