GUWAHATI: The Hatigaon Police has arrested the mastermind of a kidnapping case in which two youths from the Hatigaon area were abducted from Nagaon district in January this year.
The accused — Gulzar Hussain (28) was arrested from Nagaon on Thursday in connection to the case (34/2021 u/ s 364(A) IPC) registered at Hatigaon Police Station. He has been forwarded to judicial custody.
It is to be noted that the accused demanded a total of Rs 15 lakh as a ransom amount from the families of — Nawaz Ali and Rakibul Malla. The family members also paid one lakh rupees in advance.
