GUWAHATI: A delegation of the University Law College Students' Union (ULCSU) of Gauhati University on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the Assam State Human Rights Commission (AHRC), urging the commission to take suo moto cognizance of the recent encounter incident in Nagaon involving Kirti Kamal Bora and investigate the matter.
The memorandum stated, "This is a gross violation of human rights. This has created an atmosphere of terror not only in Nagaon but in the entire State of Assam." The ULCSU stated, "We firmly believe that the rule of law should prevail, and such incidents are contradictory to the spirit of the rule of law."
