Leadership development mission programme held at APCC office

GUWAHATI: Shanker Lal Bodat, National Coordinator, All India Adivasi Congress (AICC), chaired a meeting held at the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee office on Friday. The meeting was to create awareness among the Assam State PCC members about the Leadership Development Mission (LDM), which was launched by Congress in the month of January at the AICC in New Delhi, for improving the Congress Party's electoral success by adopting the strategy of LDM. It was informed that there are 131 SC and ST constituencies (84 SC and 47 ST Parliament constituencies) in the country. The AICC has shortlisted SC and ST parliamentary constituencies for implementing the Leadership Development Mission (LDM). The strategy of the mission was explained thoroughly to all members, and they were requested to implement the LDM on a priority basis to get better results in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, right from village level to Lok Sabha constituencies. Various burning issues facing the tribal community in Assam were also discussed at length, and it was resolved that a brief summary paper would be prepared by the Adivasi Congress to attract the attention of the AICC before the election. During the meeting Raju Sahu, Ex. MLA and Vice President, APCC, Manjit Mahanta, Chairman, Media Department, Assam PCC, Kushal Kumar Sarmah, Senior Spokesperson, APCC, Bipul Gogoi, General Secretary, APCC, Sanjib Malakar ,General Secretary, APCSD, Farid Ahmed, Chairman, Sonoitpur DCC, Ignetius Ekka, Secretary, APCC, Rupa Devi, Vice President, APCC, Umesh Deka, Secretary, APCC, Deep Bayan, President, Sewa Dal Assam and others were present. Before starting to meet Manjit Mahanta, Bipul Gogoi and Kushal Kumar Sarmah had welcomed Shanker Lal Bodat, National Coordinator, by offering mementos of Assam, stated a press release.
