GUWAHATI: A few city-based private hospitals are coming forward to create special facilities and dedicated teams for management of COVID-19 positive patients.
State Health & Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently held a meeting with the owners and representatives of the private hospitals. He sought cooperation from the private hospitals for effective management of COVID positive patients.
Sources in the Health department said even though majority of private hospitals are citing various reasons for their inabilities to take the load of COVID patients, a few hospitals have already created special facilities and constituted teams of doctors to do the same. GNRC Hospitals has made operational two COVID units at its Good Health unit at Dispur and North Guwahati unit. GNRC-Good Health Clinic at Dispur has been converted into fully functional indoor facilities along with ICU unit for COVID patients. An entire block of GNRC Medical - North Guwahati has been converted into a COVID Care facility.
