GUWAHATI: The road that is connected to the Lokhra-Adagudam Road in the Lalganesh area in Guwahati is in a pathetic condition. The people of Sribhuminagar for whom this road is the only approach to Lokhra and Adagudam have been facing a harrowing time.

According to the Sribhuminagar Unnayan Samiti, the road is not fit for vehicular traffic. There is no drain, and a mild spell of rain is enough to inundate it with water from the hill nearby. The road has been surveyed by the PWD several times, but it is yet to be renovated. "We submit memorandum to the local MLA who only gives us assurance, but doing nothing," the Samiti said. The Samiti blames it on all – the local MLA, PWD, GMC, local councilor and others – for the present condition of the road. They said if the road is now renovated immediately, they will have to register their protest during the COVID-19 restrictions.
