GUWAHATI: The operators of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) organized a workshop at the airport on Thursday for the hoteliers and tour and travel operating agencies. The subject of this workshop was ‘LGBI Airport as a Gateway of Goodness to the Northeast Region’.
Setting the context for the occasion, Utpal Baruah, Chief Airport Officer, has elaborated on how the community can be instrumental in creating a delightful experience for the air passenger throughout the journey and cited the initiatives Goa had taken up during 2004–2008 and how it became the permanent venue of India’s International Film Festival of India (IFFI). He emphasized the need for training, infrastructure, and stakeholder involvement for the development of a robust tourism industry.
