GUWAHATI: AASU (All Assam Students’ Union), Gauhati University (GU) Unit along with the University Law College Unit is demanding the report of the seven-member committee on the alleged anomalies of IDOL to be made public. The AASU GU unit sent a memorandum to the vice-chancellor with several demands specially putting pressure to make the report public over the issue of the report of CAG (Comptroller and Auditor- General of India) regarding the irregularities of the courses offered by IDOL (Institute of Distance and Open Learning). To look into the allegation claimed by CAG, the university had formed a seven-member committee wherein CAG had alleged that the distance learning wing of the university has been offering unapproved courses risking the career of around 74,000 students. Hence looking into the seriousness of the matter the GU AASU unit and law college unit demanded to make the report public.
