Man Climbs Up High Voltage Electric Post in Guwahati to Save his Life from Miscreants

Power minister Bimal Bora rushed the spot and directed SDRF and police personnel to help the man come down from the post where he passed time amid another danger.

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a helpless man saved his life from an attack of a group of four youths by climbing up a high voltage electric post.

Amid a frightening COVID-19 situation, the incident happened at the Garchuk area of Guwahati last night.

Knowing about the incident Power minister Bimal Borah rushed the spot and directed SDRF and police personnel to help the man come down from the post where he passed time amid another danger.

The man, identified as Pradip Das from Hazo, was taken to the Garchuk Police station by the minister himself. The minister himself drove his car to take the man to the Police Station.

According to sources Das resides in the Garchuk area and last night a violent group of youths tried to attack him while he was alone, In order to save him from the attack, he climbed up the electric post fast.

Taking to his Twitter handle the minister wrote, "Govt under Dr. @himantabiswa in service to the people of Assam 24X7. Personally supervised a daring midnight rescue operation in cooperation with @aegclofficial, @GuwahatiPol, & SDRF of a person who climbed atop a 2.2 lakh volts transmission tower at Deeporbeel"
