Massive Hyderabad roadshow highlights Assam’s tourist spots

GUWAHATI: After the success of the first roadshow at Chennai on 27th January 2020, the Tourism Department, Government of Assam organized the second roadshow on 29th January 2020 at J.R.C Convention, Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad.

A strong team of Assam Tourism officials, tour operators and a cultural troupe under the leadership of Jayanta Malla Baruah, Chairman, Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (ATDC) conducted the road show for promotion of Assam Tourism. He was accompanied by Navadeep Kalita, Vice Chairman, ATDC Ltd., Deba Kr. Mishra, Director Tourism, Assam; Anamika Tewari, Deputy Secretary, Tourism Department and other officials.

The road show in Hyderabad was participated by around 120 leading tour operators and other stakeholders of the Tourism fraternity of Telengana. The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chairman, ATDC, Vice Chairman ATDC, Director Tourism, Assam, Deputy Secretary, Tourism Department, Assistant Director, India Tourism, Hyderabad and other eminent tour operators and stakeholders of Telengana.

In his welcome address, Jayanta Malla Baruah highlighted the tourist destinations of Assam. He also gave an overview of the tourism potential in the State, besides emphasizing that the State is poised to be one of the most preferred destinations for tourists from all over the world because of its varied and complete package. He motivated the tour operators present in the road show to make Assam their preferred destination and assured them of ensured all government help to achieve this end.

Deba Kumar Mishra, Director, Tourism Government of Assam has given an audio visual presentation on Assam Tourism showcasing the tourist destinations of the State and all the logistics and other information on the tourism sector before the gathering.

Satarupa Datta, Assistant Director, India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India , in her speech has explained various schemes undertaken by Ministry of Tourism , Government of India and appreciated the initiatives taken by Assam Tourism for holding the road show at Hyderabad and invited all to visit Assam.

Arijit Purkayastha, Koyeli Tour and Travels, Guwahati on behalf of the Tour Operators of Assam, showcased the tourism opportunities and potential of Assam and invited everybody to visit Assam.

Nagesh Pampati, chairman, TAAI, Telegana and Ashok Hemrajani, president, Telegana Restaurant and Hotelier Association said that it is now time for Telegana’s Tour Operators to take Assam in their travel packages.

The cultural troupe accompanying the group comprising Gayatri Mahanta, Madhusmita Dihingia, Rumila Boro, Dishadrwitee Baruah, Bharat Hazarika, Biplob Gogoi, Manash Rajbongshi enthralled the audience through their performances of Xatriya, Jhumur, Bihu and other dance forms of Assam. In between the programme promotional videos of 65th Film Fare Awards were also played before the august gathering and invited all to Assam for the Film Aare Awards.
