GUWAHATI: With the Gauhati High Court not giving any relief, suspended ACS officer Sharmistha Borah appeared before the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell on Thursday. Sharmistha was interrogated by the CM’s Special Vigilance Cell and asked to appear on a given date again.

It may be noted that, along with the other 13 people, Sharmistha Borah’s name also figured in the list of accused in the scam of the Members of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund in the state. The Gauhati High Court, after hearing the anticipatory bail plea of Sharmistha Borah, has called for the case diary on May 22 from the police.

On the other hand, two other suspended ACS officers, Sukanya Bora and Hemanta Kumar Dutta, had also moved the High Court for anticipatory bail. The High Court, too, did not give the duo any relief and has called for the case diary on May 22.
