GUWAHATI: Transport, Skill and Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary chaired a meeting through video conference with all the Deputy Commissioners, along with General Managers of DICCs, District Transport Officers, Principals of ITIs, Assistant Directors of Employment and Craftsmen Training on Monday. The Minister discussed in detail issues pertaining to Industries & Commerce, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship and Transport departments.
Addressing the DCs, the Minister said that service delivery should improve as government has a major role to play post COVID-19 scenario to improve the ecosystem, enhance economic growth, facilitate entrepreneurship and improve the source of livelihood of the people, stated a release.
Minister Patowary asked the DCs to identify and promote one product which has export potentiality through the 'One District One Product Programme' and provide incentives to the local entrepreneurs of the micro food processing units in their respective districts. Minister Patowary called upon the DCs to strengthen the enforcement drive in their districts and impose fines on the vehicles found violating laws. He instructed the DTOs to enhance revenue collection to meet up the loss following COVID-19 related lockdown.
