In the first, Sarma changed the perception of the people towards river dams in the State and almost finished the agitation against a river dam, the Minister said. On the second occasion, during the controversy over land exchange with Bangladesh in 2011, all the Opposition members were vocal against Government's decision. Sarma delivered a strong speech in the Assembly and changed the political scenario of that time, Hazarika said in the event.

The event was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Assam Paban Kumar Borthakur, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Samir Kumar Sinha, former Vice Chancellor of Assam Women's University Dr Malini Goswami and renowned journalist Dilip Chandan, among others.

Dr Malini Goswami, in her speech, reviewed the book and said that India has a rich tradition of delivering speeches since the time of the Mahabharata. She said that the book would be greatly beneficial for all sections of society.
