More trouble for ex-Dhubri ADC Saibar Rahman

GUWAHATI: The Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell (CMSVC) has started an investigation against former Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhubri, Saibar Rahman in the case related to illegal appointments of GBs or Gaon Burahs (Village Headmen) in South-Salmara Mankachar district in 2017-18.

On Tuesday, a team of the Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell visited the Deputy Commissioner's office and seized vital documents related to the case.

Recently the CMSVC had registered a case (no 05/2021) against him related to anomalies in the appointment of GBs. According to sources, many irregularities were found in the appointment of 78 GBs in the South-Salmara Mankachar district during 2017-18. It may be mentioned that Rahman was posted in the district when the alleged irregularities took place.
