Murchana Music education centre's annual cultural programme held in Guwahati

 GUWAHATI: The annual cultural programme of Murchana Music Education Centre was held at the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Auditorium of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati, on Monday. Like the previous years, the students of the Murchana Music Education Centre captivated audiences with their vocal, instrumental, and dazzling dance performances of Assamese, Hindi, and western music.

Affiliated to the Musicea Arts and Culture Council, the music institute caters to the widest range of courses in Indian and western music taught by its dedicated teacher and principal, Hiranya Kalita, and his better-half, Barnali Kalita, who are devoted to cultivating the younger generation with their integrated approach to music with a view to promoting students' competency and interest. The music couple always strives to provide practical experience to students by providing them with regular opportunities to perform on stage.

It showcased a number of budding artistes weaving magic with their skillful interpretations of various Hindi, Assamese, and western music on vocal, guitar, keyboard, piano, and violin. The cultural programme began with a chorus, sung by the students together with some parents, decorated with lyrics, tunes, and music by Hiranya Kalita, the chief principal of the music institute. For achieving the best result in the 2022 Keyboard exam, Jasleen Kaur was felicitated by Murchana Music Education Centre with a cheque of Rs 11,111, a shawl, a certificate, and a gamocha. She was also presented with the music scholarship for the current year. Certificates and mementos were also distributed among the students who had done well in various subjects of music in 2022., stated a press release.
