GUWAHATI: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has stepped into speedy implementation of its developmental agenda to create self-employment through skill based livelihood enhancement programmes this year to tackle the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic crisis and recent devastating flood situation in Assam, said SS Saha, CGM, NABARD, Assam.

He asserted that the institution has also focused on rural infrastructure development in tandem with the priority of the Government of Assam.

Saha's statement was delivered during a national-level webinar conducted on Wednesday to commemorate its 39th Foundation Day.

The webinar was attended by Atul Bora, Agriculture Minister of Assam; Shaji K V, Deputy Managing Director, NABARD, Head Office, Mumbai; Dr A Bhattacharyya, Vice-Chancellor, AAU, Jorhat; LalitGogoi, RCS, Government of Assam ; Senior Bankers, Dr AbhijitSarma, Director, IIE; SHG members, farmers, rural youths and voluntary organizations across the State.
