GUWAHATI: A two days’ National Conference of CA students organized by the Board of Studies was inaugurated at the auditorium of ICAI Bhawan at Manik Nagar, Guwahati on Friday. The theme of the Conference “Path for Success – Learn, Adapt and Accelerate”. CA MP Vijay Kumar, Central Council Member from Southern Region of ICAI, CA Ranjit Kumar Agarwal and CA (Dr) Debashis Mitra, both Central Council members of Eastern region of ICAI, inaugurated the Conference with CA Dhiraj Jain, Chairman of Guwahati Branch of ICAI.
While addressing the students at the Inaugural Ceremony, CA M P Vijay Kumar mentioned the CA Course is a world class course which requires three basic strengths ‘CDE’ in a student pursuing course, i.e. Competence (C) , Discipline (D) and Ethical values (E ) in order to become a good CA. Even if all three are present, but the degree of only one, out of the three CDE is low, it is not worthy of the profession that the Institute professes. CA Ranjit Kr Agarwal from Kolkata addressed the students of CA course as FCA – Future Chartered Accountants and said that the CA students of today will be partners in building the 5 trillion economy of our country.
CA (Dr) Debashis Mitra said that the Chartered Accountants’ act was established in 1949 soon after independence and the CA degree is one of the world class degree of excellence in the field of Accounting and auditing. On a lighter note he said, before FCA – Future Chartered Accountants, students understand CA as “COME AGAIN” because it is not at all easy to pass the CA examination and one has to do enough labour to hold this esteemed degree. The students of today are the future of the profession who should promise to stand united and committed to maintaining a high degree of the CDE as mentioned by CA MP Vijay Kumar who is a stalwart in his field.
The Chairperson CA Dhiraj Jain, Chairman of Guwahati Branch informed that this Conference is organized for the student body of the Branch at Guwahati and many luminaries of the profession including members of various councils of the professional bodies and other eminent experts from all parts of India will act as speakers at the seminar. CA Saurabh Choudhury, Chairman of EICASA, Guwahati Branch informed that the two day conference shall have 5 sessions where 20 CA students shall present study papers on different technical subjects.
