'National Energy Conservation Day' observed in Northeast Frontier Railway

GUWAHATI: The NFR (Northeast Frontier Railway observed the 'National Energy Conservation Day' on December 14 with a week-long programme that had started on December 8.

The objective behind organising the event was to make people aware of the importance of energy and its conservation. A large number of officers and staff participated in this Energy Conservation Week by taking an active part in different activities throughout NFR.

During the week, various programmes and activities such as leaflet distribution, art competition, poster and banner display, Nukkad Natak, slogans were organised throughout NFR to create awareness amongst the staff as well as the public about the importance of energy conservation. Counselling of staff on the urgency of energy conservation was made at various field units.

As part of the observance, a Nukkad Natak was organized near the premises of the NFR Headquarters complex on December 14, 2021 in the presence of railway officials and the public to create awareness on energy conservation amongst all, stated a press release.

An art competition among school children was also held at Pandu Power House, Guwahati.

During this week, public awareness walks with banners and slogans for the prevention of wastage of energy were organised at different locations over N. F. Railway. Posters have been put up at railway premises having good visibility and leaflets containing energy conservation tips were also distributed among railway staff and the public.
