GUWAHATI: Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), Guwahati Chapter celebrated National PR Day on Thursday on the theme 'Building Trust – Shaping a new world through PR' at the Hotel Gateway Grandeur in the city with the participating of members, stated a press release.
Chairperson of PRSI Guwahati Chapter Madhuchanda Adhikari welcomed members while underscoring the importance of building trust as a ground rule for effective PR and deliberated on how honesty and openness in communication could create lifelong win-win relationships.
Uttam Theron, founder-director of Parijat Academy, was the invited speaker on the occasion. Teron has been doing exemplary work for the underprivileged through his school located in Pamohi in the outskirts of the city. He expressed his perspective on the theme by sharing real-life experiences on how reaching out to people and building trust has helped him in sustaining his efforts to mainstream underprivileged children through education and the overwhelming support that he has received worldwide in this journey.
It may be mentioned that established in the year 1958, Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) is the apex body of PR & Corporate Communications professionals and practitioners in the country to promote the recognition of Public Relations as a profession and to formulate and interpret to the public the objectives and the potentialities of public relations as a strategic management function. PRSI Guwahati Chapter is one of the 25 chapters of PRSI spread across the country.
