NDRF conducts COVID-19 awareness drive in Kamrup district

In a bid to encourage people in following safety norms and defeat COVID-19 pandemic the 1st Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) organized an awareness programme at Delivery Private Limited Hill View Complex at Pamohi in Kamrup district.

GUWAHATI: In a bid to encourage people in following safety norms and defeat COVID-19 pandemic the 1st Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) organized an awareness programme at Delivery Private Limited Hill View Complex at Pamohi in Kamrup district.

During the awareness programme, the rescuers of 1st Battalion NDRF generated awareness on the general knowledge about coronavirus (COVID-19) and type of transmission, infection, prevention and control, proper use of mask, hand hygiene and social distancing. A live demonstration on hand washing was also shown as part of the programme. NDRF team also organized the pledge to community during the awareness campaign.

Randhir Singh Gill, Commandant 1st Battalion NDRF said in a statement, "We organized several such awareness programmes on COVID-19 in Government and private schools, villages and factories. NDRF rescuers aware them how to maintain hygiene by hand washing to contain COVID-19 spread, maintain social distancing and wearing mask and its benefits in the present situation," a press release said.

During the awareness programme rescuers distributed face masks and pamphlets. Rescuers also placed posters and hoardings on COVID-19 at awareness places. 1st Battalion Guwahati launched and sustained an awareness campaign to spread community level awareness about the precautions to be taken to contain the further spread of COVID-19 virus.
