GUWAHATI: The rescuers of 1st Battalion NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) Guwahati under supervision of Commandant Randhir Singh Gill, distributed food materials to more than 2,200 needy people at various places of the district, on Friday.
The rescuers distributed the relief material in Chakardeo village of Azara under Kamrup (Metro) and Katamura, Nizsundry, Bargaon, Changsari, Dhakla Nilapara, New LakhiTari and Bijoynagar village under Kamrup (Rural). During the programme, the NDRF medical team also carried out thermal screening of the villagers. The NDRF rescuers distributed food to these people in collaboration of Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad and Amrit Bhog Bhandara Guwahati. The rescuers also carried out a sanitization drive by spraying disinfectants at the Meghdoot Bhawan in Guwahati. During the programme, the NDRF rescuers emphasized on the norms of social distancing, hand washing, use of sanitizer and lockdown to tackle the spread of COVID-19.
