NEDFi receives Economic Times Government Digitech Award 2023

GUWAHATI: NEDFi has been awarded the Economic Times Government Digitech Award 2023 in the category of education for students using digital solutions in a ceremony held in Goa on Saturday. The award was received by S. K. Baruah, Executive Director; Lemli Loyi, General Manager; and Prithviraj Neog, Assistant Manager, NEDFi, on behalf of NEDFi. NEDFi has won gold in this category for its Advancing North East initiative, which was initiated, conceptualized, and funded by the North Eastern Council, Ministry of DoNER, Government of India.

NEDFi is executing the portal, and through the portal and its mobile app, NEDFi has been providing career mentoring support to more than 10 lakh students at NER and also working on their capacity building in terms of employment and entrepreneurship. The state governments of NER states have also joined hands with NEDFi in this endeavour.

The Award has been instituted to recognize the innovative digital initiatives in governance and services on demand and also to empower citizens of the Central Ministries/Departments, State/UT Governments, Districts, Local Bodies, and Central and State Government Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

In this fourth edition of the award, 300 digital initiatives from 20 states of India have participated in 15 different categories of digital services. A jury constituted of former senior bureaucrats, notable personalities from industry, and faculty from the Indian Institute of Management has evaluated the initiatives on the criteria of innovation, relevance, impact, Inclusivity, and replicability.
