GUWAHATI: Srimanta Shankaradeva Kalashetra which was built in 1998 is in a dilapidated condition. Broken pavements, ruined condition of the traditional huts and others speak about its near future. But in spite of all this the present government does not pay any attention for the development of its infrastructure. Most of the property is in ruined condition.

The solar system which was planned to lighten up the entire campus is of no use. It remains as a piece of evidence. The water of the artificial pond which was built for the entertainment of the visitors has dried up and the fishes died because of the negligence of the Kalashetra authority. The fountain which is in front of Purbajyoti Museum is of no use at present because of lack of maintenance by the authority. On the other hand, India's longest sky train as claimed by the Kalashetra authority which is built for the children is now not in a working condition. Inaugurated in 2017 "Dibya Pushpaban" now has turned into jungle. The Open Air Theatre which was build for the purpose of showing the cultural event to the visitors were now in a ruined condition. Same condition is of "Srimanta Shankardev Study Centre" which was inaugurated by former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi. This study centre has no books for the readers. Bhabendranath Children Park which was also inaugurated by former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is not in a playful condition where children can spend their leisure time.
