New B Barooah College students' body elected

GUWAHATI: The National Students Union of India (NSUI) dominated the results of the elections to the B Borooah College Students' Union, which were declared on Saturday.

The NSUI secured 10 posts out of 14 posts, including the post of general secretary, vice-president and assistant general secretary.

Asom Gana Parishad's (AGP) students' wing Asom Chatra Parishad (ACP) secured three posts out of the five posts which they contested. The posts won by ACP are the editor and boys' and girls' common room secretaries.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) won one post, that of the president, unopposed.

The new Students' Union Body will include, among others, Biswajit Sharma (president), Kaustav Mahanta (vice-president), Jondip Pathak (general secretary), Dimbeshwar Baishya (assistant general secretary), Hritik Nath (cultural secretary) and Tinamoni Narzary (editor).
