GUWAHATI: The All Assam NRHM Medical and Paramedical Employees' Association has submitted a memorandum comprising a slew of demands to Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the NHM Mission Director. Their demands are regularization of their posts, equal pay for equal works, age relaxation, job and social security, etc.

Medical and paramedical employees got their jobs under NHM after written as well as oral interview as per government norms. "We demand to process some steps for regularizing experienced and well-deserve staff in the vacant posts lying under Health and Family Welfare department on seniority basis of their working experience under NHM," the memorandum said. On equal pay and equal work, the memorandum said, "We urge you to process immediate steps to provide us pay scale defined by the Seventh Pay Commission, Assam along with yearly increments as like regular employees of Health and Family Welfare department."
