Northeast Frontier Railway conducts ticket-checking drive against ticketless passengers

GUWAHATI: The NF Railway has conducted regular ticket-checking drives. As per the instructions of IG RPF NFR and Divisional Security Commissioner/RPF Lumding, a special team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and commercial staff of Kamakhya conducted a massive drive against the ticketless passengers at Kamakhya Station on Saturday. The team apprehended 47 people, penalized them, and released them with Rs. 13485.

Also, they apprehended 28 people who were littering the area, penalized them by the commercial staff, and the offenders were released with a Rs 5900 fine. Two passengers were fined Rs. 400 for smoking on the station platform.

Despite this, the RPF arrested 14 people who were travelling in a reserved coach for female or disabled passengers of trains without authority, and they were fined a total of Rs 19485.
