NYKS to organize event on 75th anniversary of India's Independence'

GUWAHATI: The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports as part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-India@75 is organizing 'Fit India Freedom Run-2.0' throughout the country on August 13 (Friday), 2021 on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Independence of the country.

Accordingly, NYKS (Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan) will organize the 'Freedom Run' in 34 districts in Assam covering 75 villages in each district covering 75 participants in each village. Hence 1,91,250 participants will take participate in the programme up to October 2 in Assam.

The concept of 'Fit India Freedom Run' was conceived last year in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic when social distancing became the 'new normal' lifestyle, so as to keep the imperative need of fitness active even while following the social-distancing norms.

The concept of 'Fit India Freedom Run' was launched on the concept of "Virtual Run", i.e., it can be run anywhere, anytime! You run a route of your choice, at a time that suits you. Basically, you can run your own race and time your own pace, stated a press release.

This time, 'Fit lndia Freedom Run-2.0' will commence on August 13, 2021 and conclude on October 2, 2021. The aim is to encourage people to take up fitness activities such as running and sports in their daily lives and get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases etc.

This campaign will call upon the citizens to include physical activity of at least 30 minutes daily in their lives with the motto: 'FITNESS KI DOSE, AADHA GHANTA ROZ'.
