Mustafizur Rahman, Retired Chief Engineer of Assam PWD, resident of Rajgarh Road, Guwahati, passed away on the morning of June 24, at a private hospital in Guwahati.

Mustafizur Rahman, Retired Chief Engineer of Assam PWD, resident of Rajgarh Road, Guwahati, passed away on the morning of June 24, at a private hospital in Guwahati. His Janaaza took place on the same day at the Islampur Kabrstan, Guwahati. He was 82. He leaves behind his wife, three sons and respective daughters in law, and four grandchildren. His passing away was widely mourned.

He was born in Dhubri and was an exceptional multi-disciplinary sportsperson, who excelled in cricket, volleyball, tennis, football and table tennis. He also represented Cotton College, Assam Engineering College and local clubs. During his professional tenure, beginning as an Assistant Engineer in Assam PWD, he was posted all across the State. His notable contribution was the construction of Roads and Fencing at the Indo-Bangladesh border in the Dhubri district
