One arrested with fake Indian currency at Guwahati railway station

Railway Police Force (RPF) duly apprehended a person at Guwahati railway station at about 11.15 am for allegedly carrying fake Indian currency notes

GUWAHATI: Railway Police Force (RPF) on Thursday duly apprehended a person at Guwahati railway station at about 11.15 am for allegedly carrying fake Indian currency notes (FICNs). RPF, GRP and CIB staff of Guwahati noticed the person moving in a suspicious way near the main entrance gate of Guwahati railway station. Owing to suspicion, the officials detained the person for checking and interrogation.

After checking his bag, they found several bundles of fake Indian currency notes (FICN) of Rs.500 with one side blank, and several bundles of Rs. 500 notes with both side printed.

On being asked, he disclosed his name and address as Rajesh Madhukar Bangar (42), Datta Nagar, P.S- Barshi, Dist- Solapur, Maharastra. He stated that he travelled from Mumbai to Guwahati by train on March 24, 2023 and arrived at Guwahati on March 26, 2023. He stayed in a hotel at Paltan Bazar.

Thereafter, the one side printed blank fake Indian currency notes (FICNs) were counted and found to be a total of Rs. 4,62,500 and both side printed FICNs of Rs. 500 denomination was Rs. 4,93,000. And the total FICNs recovered is Rs.
